Politically I've done everyone from President Clinton
(the first campaign) to Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, including half
a dozen US Senators, a dozen Congressmen, a lot of governors, mayors
and a heck of a lot of wannabees. Most of this work has been done
for political consultant types like Ken Swope, Dan Payne, Joe Slade
White, John Martilla, Mary Beth Cahill and a bunch of other people
you never heard of unless you're a serious political junkie.
Educationally I've done a whole lot of work for all kinds of departments
at Harvard from capital campaigns to the applied science department,
as well as major projects for Northeastern, MIT, Wellesley, Bowdoin
College, Middlebury College, Cushing Academy and a bunch of other
academic institutions you never heard of unless you're a serious educational
junkie.
Portraitly I've done wonderful likenesses of the gifted (Rita Dove,
Peter Matthiessen, ) the successful (Andy Grove), the benign (Geoffrey
Canada), the sublime (Beverly Sills), the good (Daniel Patrick Moynihan),
the powerful (Dr. C Everett Koop), the wealthy (Teresa Heinz) and
the not so wealthy (my neighbor Merritt Wheeler), and a lot of other
folks you've never heard of unless you re a serious voyeur.
Stockly I've got dazzling pictures of golfers and children and births
and deaths and old people and happy people and dogs. I've got places
like Spain, Portugal, France, Turkey, England, Italy, Brazil, Mexico,
Australia, Belgium, Iceland and Troy, New York. I've got pictures
of people with computers and without. I've got people walking, sitting,
running and spitting, but I do not have cats. I've got a lot of years
worth of stuff that you've never dreamed of unless you're an art director.
Personally I've always tried to take pictures of things that I thought
would look interesting when photographed, including my son Ben, people
who speak Spanish and/or Portuguese, women in labor, airports, museums,
gay parades and a lot of other things that you never thought were
particularly note-worthy unless you were a photographer.
